Jenn Huck
TREASURER
Jenn Huck is a librarian and competitive powerlifter who brings both intellectual rigor and serious barbell energy to The Strength Initiative. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Jenn holds a BA in Sociology from Macalester College, an MA in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), also from UW-Madison. She has worked as a librarian at the University of Pennsylvania and, since 2013, at the University of Virginia in various leadership roles.
Jenn discovered strength training through a physical therapist’s recommendation and began working out at home. After a year of solo training, her curiosity about barbells led her to a local gym—and she never looked back. Today, she’s a dedicated competitive powerlifter who finds joy, empowerment, and community in the weight room.
Jenn joined The Strength Initiative because she’s passionate about introducing more women to the life-changing benefits of lifting. Whether it’s the mental boost, physical strength, or sense of community, she believes strength training has something to offer every woman—and she’s eager to help build a space where they can discover it for themselves.
When she’s not training or working, Jenn is likely sewing her own clothes, reading a great novel, or spending time with her two daughters (who are already starting to lift!). She’s always ready to talk technique, especially if the topic is bench press—her favorite lift.
