Michelle Moshier
DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY & OPERATIONS
Michelle Moshier grew up in Cherry Valley, Virginia and holds a B.S. in Psychology and Mathematics from Sweet Briar College. Professionally, she serves as Director of Operations for Hawthorne Hospitality, where she brings her love of systems, organization, and people to a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Michelle first discovered strength training years ago as a regular at Solidarity Complete Fitness. While she never considered herself an “athlete,” she loved the challenge and community of lifting. After a period away from training, she recently returned to strength work at The Strength Initiative as part of her breast cancer health journey. Now navigating stage IV cancer treatment, she values the accessibility, thoughtful programming, and supportive community that make it possible to keep showing up and building strength.
Michelle was initially drawn to The Strength Initiative because it sits next door to her workplace, but what keeps her coming back is the mission. She believes deeply in building strong communities for women and in the importance of strength at every stage of life. For Michelle, that commitment is both personal and practical—she is postmenopausal, living with metastatic cancer, and focused on staying strong for the long haul.
Outside the gym, Michelle is a self-described spreadsheet enthusiast and wine lover currently working toward her sommelier certification. She is also the busy mom of three young children under five and remains deeply connected to the breast cancer community. When she’s in the gym, her favorite part is stretching, and that satisfying soreness that reminds her she showed up!
Michelle’s first job was at age five working Renaissance fairs with her parents. She has skydived twice, can drive a manual car (even on the left side of the road), and holds a motorcycle license! In October 2026, she will climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for young adults with cancer.
